Having Way Too Much Fun!
NEW YORK 15.06 2011 _ From June 15th, Gate 535 gets to the nightlife made in USA with an exhibition of the Miami- based artist Charis Kirchheimer . A collection of photographs that the artist took along the unusual, underground and crazy life in the city. Immortalized from the sunset , Miami shows how its inhabitants know exactly how to have fun and revel everywhere, from the exclusive poolside -party to private places or the skyscraper rooftops until dawn. “People Having Way Too Much Fun”-this is the title of Charis Kirchheimer first solo-exhibition in New York, curated by Virginia Villari ( Contaminate NYC ), at ContestaRockHair until the 22nd of July- is a collage of situations ranging from sleek to wild, from clubbing to fetish and voodoo rituals . The underlying theme is, for sure, those “party animals” that appear in this scenario: a collection of wigs, high heels, bizarre clothes and lots of fun – sometimes too much, as the title of the exhibition suggests- Charis captures spontaneously creating from each picture a story
